The stepparents and stepchildren!!

How are relationships between stepparents and stepchildren generally depicted in fiction or film? Do you have any experience with or knowledges, The positive aspects of these relationships?

The relationship between the stepparents and step children in films and fiction are really horable. For example, in cinderella,her mother was dead and her father had married a widow with two daughters. Her stepmother didn't like her one little bit. All her kind thoughts and loving touches were for her own daughters. they got everything they wanted dresses, shoes, delicious food, soft beds, and much more. But, for cinderellal, there was nothing at all. No dresses, only her stepsisters’ hand-me-downs. No lovely dishes, nothing but scraps. No rest and no comfort. She had to work hard all day. Only when evening came was she allowed to sit for a while by the fire. A dress arived and she was told a ball was coming but she did not even ask to go as for she know she was not allowed. The day of the ball she was home all alone and out of no where a fairy appeared and talked to her and told her to go to the ball and she asked how could she dressed as she was. The fairy wiggles her fingers and Cinderella found herself wearing the most beautiful dress she had ever seen. she went to the ball and the fairy said once the clock striked midnight everything will be gone. She went and had so much fun and then noticed the time and had to run away and lost her shoe with the prince.

He sent out a search to find her and he got to cinderellas house and the 3 step sisters tryed on the shoe and it did not fit and then cinderella tryed it on and it fit! Her stepmother said"That awful untidy girl simply cannot have been at the ball!"Tell the Prince he ought to marry one of my two daughters! Can't you see how ugly Cinderella is?. Suddenly the fairy appeared and waved her magic wand. In a flash, Cinderella appeared in a pretty dress, shining with youth and beauty. Her stepmother and stepsisters gaped at her in amazement. Cinderella married the prince and lived happily ever after.

In that story ( or movie) it is a prime example how bad fiction and films make stepparents and stepkids are. In real life its really not that bad. In real life ,Well for most people, Its hard but they arnt going to outcast one or the other as they are both your kids. Ya a lot of kids hate there step parents as they arnt your true parents. Thats kind of expected. I know of a few people that have the exact same thing going as in cinderella and or in hamlet. Hamlet did have it worse than any one though as he found out his stepdad(aka uncle) killed his real dad. Hamlet at that point had all rights to be pissed off about him mom to marrieing his uncle but she did not know he killed her husband.

In my life i have a lot of people i could tell you about with my knowledge and real life experiences. Th one that affected me the most is my aunt and uncle and my cusins. Ashlee and shawn love there dad larry. I dont remember why my aunt shelly and uncle larry got divorced but i know it did affect everyone in our family pretty bad. My aunt and uncle since have got married. Larrys wife is like a wicked witch of the west ( off wizerd of oz) and my aunt married an old lazy very rude guy. Now my family is Larry, Shelly, Ranae, Lewis, Shawn Ashlee,cody, courtney, and brandon. I loved larry he was my favorite and my aunt. My actually cusins hate lewis and renae. I dont blame them as they get treated liek crap by her and lewis makes them do everything for him as hes wont get off his butt and do anything.

With all the stuff my family has been threw and my friends as i know a few of them that has happend to them i feel bad for them. But my family is probable just as bad but where just all together. Its really sad. So if you have a family where nothing can be better. look at all those thats familys are broke up and or really bad and be great full your not down there with them cause when fmilys are liek that it doint just affect them it affects everyone around them and its bad.

The Great ones

King claudius states" madness in great ones must not unwatched go." How true is this on any age? What evidence can you find in recent news stories to supposrt this statement? How do societies keep checks and balances on their " great ones"?

Everything keeps changing in the society where everything has got bad. Even some one liking someone if your some one famous everyone knows everything about you. It got really pathetic. i really thing its stupid that peopel get told they cant see someone. If they like them they got all rights to be with them if they want to. I dont see why people these days are so weird about that.

Society had cameras and video recorders following them around. I think its so stupid they should be able to live a normal life just like everyone else cause they are normal people just like you and I are. Love can take you very many ways. You jsut have to follow your heart.

Im not sure what else to say as the book to me was very very confusing. All i know was hamlet is in love with Ophelia and no one understand why.

Thinker or a Doer?

Are you a thinker or a doer? How would you like to be different or would you like to be different?

At times I am a thinker but then again I can be a doer. Sports I am a doer. I just react by my gut feeling and trust that and don't think what could happen next. Softball I just do anything I can to stop the ball and run and slide and dive and just do it then after the fact I end up with scares and bruises.

At other times I'm a thinker with hunting and driving and much other tings I think before I do anything. With hunting you kind of have to. You don't want to be the person you read in the paper about killing someone out in the woods. You have to follow the laws and think before you react. There is times everyone will over think things and then its a ad thing as that will get you no place.

There has been plenty times I wish I thought before I just did something as it ended with me being hurt or something bad happening. Then there's times I'm glad I'm the way I am as if I wanted I wouldn't be who I am. Those are the hard things to try and say I want to be different. If I changed my self for one person I completely change my self for everyone else.

I like the way I am I just wish sometimes I did just do stuff before I thought about it as I have talked my self out of something I should not have passed up. If I could change me and be different the only thing id want to change would be not so much a doer and have a happy medium of thinking and doing.

REVENGE!!!!

This story is about a friend of mine. Ill call her Jill.

So Jill and I where really really close. We did everything together. well Jill's younger than me and she decided she was going to act like she was older than me and boss me around. I did not like this and told her to stop. So she wouldn't. So I just stoped talking to her. A few days went by and Jill came up to me and yelled at me telling how much of a crappy friend I was. I just said thank you and walked away.

A few weeks went by and I still wouldn't talk to Jill. She would just walk by and give me a dirty look. Well this who time I was plotting what I would do to get back at her fro all the drama and crap she has started with my other friends. After 3 weeks went by I had a plan.

My plan was to do the exact same thing she did to me back. So I started to do they same thing to her and she started to get mad at me and and started calling me names and I kept doing it for about a week. Then I called her up and said do you get why I keep doing this to you and she said no and started getting mad I just laughed at her and said and now you see why you have mad me mad and I stoped talking to you. I hated how you where treating me so I had to get me revenge and show you how it feels to have your best friend walk all over me. after that a few days went by and she came up to me and told me thanks she never knew how rude she was to people she cared about tell some one gave her a taste of what she was doing with us.

After reading this, answer the following on your blog: why is this important? Compared to the statewide average, how many people in Shasta city have post high school degrees? Why do you think there is such a difference? Be specific!

Its important as more and more kids are getting involved and going to college. As of 2003 college application submissions from the area have increased 33 percent. At the same time Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) submissions have gone up 27%. Over the past 4 years everything have increased 67%. That is great news for schools as more and more kids are getting involved and going to college.

The difference in the statewide and Shasta county may look like a lot but with Shasta county being smaller its impressive to see how many people actually have got a post high school degree. I think there is such a difference as a lot of people in Shasta county have been taught that having a degree is a good thing and without it getting a job is hard.

The teachers in Shasta county and the people that run the school make it so much easier to understand about the college connections and that stuff that it makes kids want to do it. As its not so com placated to do. We have many opportunities to be able to go to college and its almost stupid of us not to take it.

That being said shows why the percentage in Shasta county is higher than most and at a pretty good average.

Shasta county- 18.8% statewide 29.5%

There Is a Silver Lining

Do you agree with Zakaria's pemise that we, as a nation, must begin to save more and consume less? Why or why not? Does Zakaria convinve you of this premise that we must learn to save more and spend less in order to ride out the current financial crisis? What specifically did he say to convince you? If he didn't convince you, what in his argument was weak?

I do agree. With how the economy is going to day thats what we need to be able to have things in the future. We as a nation use to much stuff we truley dont need. He tales about how we spend so much and how high the taxes are. There is just to many people that dont have jobs right now how can we save our selfs yet alone help the government and there financial crisis? he did convince me but im not totally sure of what part he did so.

I think that no one should be allowed to just get pills when they want to i think they should have to have a reason and a doctors ok for having the pills. I don't think its right to just have people get stuff when they want for pills. As being a teen i know there's a lot of people that would take that way to much for granted. That's why i think they need to be prescribed by a doctor not by the people who directly make the drugs cause people tend to lie to get med's. If people could just get there med's from the drug people why would we even have doctors? That's the whole point for doctors. So do I agree or disagree with Stephen king yes I do. I have the same idea as he does.

The more everything goes down the more people that get unemployed and the more people cant pay for there houses there cars anything anymore.

Samuelson) If the economy and the government does not figure out whats going on everyone will go bankrupt and the world as we know it will turn to a complet mad house.

after high school

After high school I want to go to butte college. Its not that far away and I could still come home if I needed to. I want to be out on my own and try to do things by my self thats why I want to go to school in chico. I want to become a vet tech or vetrinarian as aniamls is my passion. Besides chico state is one of the most ag majored schools localy in CA. So from butte I might go to chico state but I might go out of state. I'm not completly sure what I want to do as of right now though. I'm still trying to put my feet on the ground in what I want to do with my life.

Should we bail them out? Why or why not?

I dont think we should bail them out. If some other company where to do the same thing we would feel obligated to do the same thing for them. It would put us way over our heads in this. What's another few hundred billion dollars of debt on top of a national debt that already reaches $9.7 trillion. Do we really need to make that number any higher? People really ned to pick what they start really wisely if they cant pay for it then dont do it. Thats what i have to said about that. So, about bailing them out i say no. Thats there problem not ours.

how to fight binge drinking

Explain why you agree or disagree with the idea of lowering the drinking age to 18. Might it work? How?

"Lowering the drinking age might help take the edge off the wildness" said Evan Thomas from Newsweek web exclusive. In this case he is right. If we where to lower the drinking age it wouldn't be a big hassle for everyone else and kids sneaking around doing it anyways. The age of 18 is not as far away from the end of high school as 21 . Most people think just cause there out of high school going to college means its time to party and they get in trouble and the education and everything goes out the window cause all there worried about it partying. If the age limit did change just cause there out of high school it wouldn't be as big of a deal cause they could do it be for hand.


In other words," Mothers Against Drunk Driving raised the drinking age to 21 in the early '80s when statistics showed the age- 18 drinking led to more highway deaths." That is one major thing to think about. Is an 18yr old seriously capable enough to handle that? There are places that it is legal for an 18 yr old to drink and they have had so many problems with std's, teenage births, deaths, brain damage, lived damage, and so much more. Ya drinking younger may sound absolutely great to all of us, but is it really worth dieing for?


To many people think that lowering the drinking age will make more kids more responsible for what they do. I think it will do just the opposite. I think they will not care about anything and be totally stuck up and not care about anything other than drinking. Kids will start not wanting to go to school they will want to party instead. To all the kids i know they will say that's awsome but no its really not. Your not cool just cause you can drink you need to learn there is more things in life than just braking all the rules and becoming a high school drop out and work at McDonald's all your life. Does that sound like fun to you? Well to me it don't. I don't think destroying my life by drinking and partying will help me in any way shape or form.



At the age of 18, ya our parents are not responsible for us anymore where considered a adult we can but cigarettes, chew, cigars, and that nasty stuff. So why shouldn't the drinking age be down that low? I don't get why they even allow an 18 year old to buy those things in the first place. Whats it doing for us? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! giving us cancer and killing our lungs. There's more to life than that. I mean ya it can work cause we can but everything else anyways but i don't think its right i think we shouldn't be able to buy anything tell where at least 20.

Its the same thing like smoking pot. People will find any way shape or form to get a script so they can smoke and they use that as an excuse. If they are going to let some people smoke it then why not everyone else? I don't get this society. They need to make one age limit for everything or if not one at all. If you where to lower the drinking age I think it will get kids to start trying to drink at a younger age I mean right now high schools think its cool to drink we lower the age well be promoting it to the middle schools. I don't think its a good idea to lower it even though I know everyone would love it.

The Price of Our Addiction

This article, writen in '06, advises getting started on an alternate energy plan. Have we done that? Are we close to having a solid energy plan? What should we do? have you and your family changed driving habits? Heating? Finally, what do you see as the best alternative?



We have tried many different ways to change how we do things. Like we have electronical cars now. We have tryed different ways to find oil and or mkae a substance thats like oil. with gas prices the way they are its got really bad. we are trying to have a solid energy plan but we keep catching glitches in the system. we need to stop waiting so much gas and oil. my family has kind of changed the way we do things but we still drive a lot and ride our dirtbikes. with heating we have changed a lot we dont use the heater as much we just get blankets and cloths.

Big Bang

Is the potential downside worth the risk with the LHC? In other words should scientists continue with turning it on?

Is it really worth the risk of destroying the whole earth by it not working right and it not being able to be stoped? After all the money they have spent on it they really should try to finish what they satarted but is it really worth it ? No, not in my opinion on this is no its not worth the possability of destroying everyones life because the want to creat the "big bang". With all the money losses and the economy so bad right now and us paying taxes for them to do this our taxes can go to something that wont potentialy wipe us all out. Its a great idea but not at a really great time for this to be done. I think they should hold off a while tell they come up with everything and make sure thereri s no glitches in the system so it can be shut off if something totally bad where to happen. This could be potincialy a really good thing but with the factor of one wrong thing that goes on the world being destroyed kind of makes you want to think about it a lot more than anythnig else.

"The Green Knight"

The green knight was a character featured in the poem "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" (fourteenth century). A mysterious visitor to Camelot. The Green Knight was huge , wild appearance, and green complexion which set him apart from everyone elses in Arthur's Camelot. He says that he comes in friendship and does not wanting to fight. The friendly game he proposes is quite deadly. He holds everyone to there word. If you say something he will hold you to it. Sir Gawain has to go to great lengths to hold up his end of their bargain. The Green Knight shows himself to be not human when he picks up his own head that was cut off and rides out of Arthur's court, still talking to everyone. The green knight then gives Gawain a year to find his home an live a little before the cut is returned. At the end of the poem, we where told that the Green Knight is also Bertilak, where Gawain was staying trainer, and one of Morgan le Faye's minions.

My Heroes

Who are 3 of my heroes?

John Hinote- Hes my grandpa. hes my hero because hes a diabetic and has Parkinson's and don't let either of those slow him down from being him. Hes know and tall tails cause hes always go a story to tell and so many people love him. The day my grandpa lets everything catch up with him or died will be a very sad day for me. Hes been there for my threw everything. Between school, hunting, old friend, new friend , hard times and good ones and sad ones too. there is never a day being with him gets old. I love my grandpa and i really respect him. Hes one of my heroes because he don't let anything get in the way, always makes time for everyone, and will do anything for anyone just to see them smile. Most people do not like my grandpa cause he is honest but i look up to him for it he wont sugar coat things and make them sound better then it is.

David Thompson- This guy was my friend over summer. He was there for me when no one else was. His step mom Linda(witch i also consider my hero) runs a safe haven horses rescue off West Anderson drive. I went down there almost all summer cause I had a lot on my mind and I just wanted to get away and be around horses means how Ive always wanted one. Well one day I was down there David came down and we became friend. He was always there for me and watched out for me. I had some really hard time over this summer between my family fighting and not getting along to problems with a guy. He was always there to sit there and listen to me go on and on about everything. I felt bad for him. But i really respect the fact he just sat there and listened to me. hes one of my heroes because he was there for me when no one else was and was always happy to see me smile. I own him.

Dianne Hinote- My MOM! I don't know what i would ever do without her. She goes threw so much stuff just to see me or my sister happy and some times me and aarica kind of go over board with that. I always tell her I'm sorry. she'll just look at me and say "i know its ok you know i love you". I consider her my hero because she puts off everything she wants to do to make everyone else happy. I love my mom!

Josh Gray- Hes been one of my best friend for a while and he moved to Utah a while back. I was sad to see him go. Well over the summer something completely unexpected happened. He came down here to visit and when he went home he was in for a shock of his life. I don't know how he did it. How he just kind of excepted it and started moving on and supporting him and his mom both after this tragic accident but he still stayed strong and hasn't let it affect who he is. I consider him a hero to me cause if i lost anyone i loved in my family i wouldn't be able to just let it go. I lost my dog a few years back and i still don't want to accept it. He's my hero and he'll always be my hero.

He learned his battle skills and learned how to fight. He learner he could die just like everyone else and he learned he could take on someone twise his size as long as he had the courage to do so he could win. He was revealed to be the strongest and best fighter around after he took on the grendel and the grendels mother and won.
